Weather is getting nice and many have jumped in the craze of Spring Tournament Hockey Circuit.
It's a great way to keep advancing your skills, travel, and hey you may even get to miss Friday of school.
Spring Hockey is Good Because

Play on different teams against different opponents than in your regular winter leagues

Quick and it's over in a weekend. Which means that there is less political drama and if you have a poor performance you can bounce back the next weekend.

Competitive. These spring tournies seem to motivate kids to play even harder.

Learning experience from other players/families from other areas. With relaxed rules, many players get the chance to play for different teams that are out of their immediate geographical region. This allows both players & parents to learn from different coaches & playing styles.

Fun - As the wether gets nicer, parents & players get to enjoys BBQ's & the outdoor pools with their friends once the games are done.

Some Keys for the Spring Hockey Tournaments

Pack Right – Having a cooler loaded with water & healthy snacks will save a family plenty of money & allow the athlete to eat healthier between games.

Research – the area (hotels & restaurants & equipments shops) before you attend so you do not waste time in lines orlooking for the best place to get your skates sharpened

Know the schedule & format for the tournament - How many teams advance? How are tie breakers decided?

Find ways to recharge the batteries between games and at night - Players tend to stay up too late in the hotels mingling with their new buddies, leaving them not ready for those early morning games.

Extra sets of underwear – Be sure that the player has enough under gear to not have to wear a wet set, and get that gear out in the sun for a few hours to dry between games
