Are You Ready For the Upcoming Hockey Season?
September 2010
The ‘10/’11 hockey season is now upon us. A summer away from the classroom and rinks can be good. It gives your body and mind time to recover.
But now it is time to get geared up once again for the tournaments and league play.
The following is just a small sample of the areas each player/family must ask themselves:
-
Do you have all the right equipment to play this year?
-
Are you ready physically to participate fully in hockey activity? Basically, are you good shape?
-
Are your skills (skating, shooting, stickhandling ect.) at a level that allows you to compete at a high level? What are your best skills? Which skills need to be better?
-
What is my schedule for this upcoming year? When are practices? When are games? What tournaments will you play in this year?
-
What are you goals for this upcoming year? Personal goals? Team Goals?
-
What commitments do I have with my team? How much time? How much effort/money?
-
What will be the most fun part about playing hockey this season?
-
Are you prepared to play hockey at your best?
Each of these questions need to be answered. They are a starting guideline and will help you understand your course of action for the upcoming month.
ARE YOU READY?
Good Luck This Season!
